At the annual SKA Black Belt Council meeting held at Shotokan Ohshima Dojo near Santa Barbara February 3, 2024, our Kansas City dojo was awarded Midwest Dojo of the Year in recognition of our hosting of special training and several open-to-all-members weekend practices led by seniors from around the continent.

Mike Kostroske was awarded Midwest Member of the Year for his enthusiastic participation and leadership in most activities around the Midwest and for his many years’ managing the annual Midwest Summer Special Trainings held at Missouri Western State University where he is an alum.
