Mark Kohagura (godan) led exchange practices at Kansas City Shotokan Karate Club Saturday and Sunday September 27 & 28, 2025.
Practices were open to members in good standing of SKA. All levels were welcome and encouraged to attend.

- SATURDAY, September 27
- 9 – 11 am open practice (no regular noon practice)

- ippon gumite (shuto-uke outside with front leg maegeri)
- sanbon gumite (going in like 4-beat)
- Heian Nidan
- 12 pm lunch at Lulu’s Thai Restaurant (separate checks)
- 2 – 4 pm open practice
- Altman warmup
- 4-beat drill
- jiyu ippon gumite receiver goes in like 1st movement of 4-beat drill
- jiyu ippon gumite with maete attack, receiver goes in like 1st movement of 4-beat drill, then quick kaete with gyaku-zuki
- Mark watched and corrected individual kata
- 6 pm BBQ dinner for everyone at Lyon’s home ($20 please)
